At the Airport

We are on our way!
It is a rainy Portland morning - but you would never know from the excitement in the air. We are gathering in the airport waiting for the first leg of our tip - PDX to Atlanta, then on to Tel Aviv. Even here in the lobby I am listening to my first familiar bits of Hebrew conversation from a fellow traveler.
Of course there always has to be some misadventure. Because of weather problems, my rental cell was delivered late and Nicole had to run it over to the airport. Yeah Nicole!
Just last week our group gathered to preview the trip and talk about our expectations. It was very meaningful. For many it is a first time in Israel, and I am jealous of the first time joy the will experience . For others, it is a time to reconnect with an old friend.
There is a odd familiarity now. We are all experienced travelers. So far nothing so very new. But soon - Jerusalem!
We are boarding soon. From the familiar to the extraordinary - from chol to Kodesh!
Nissiah Tova!
